We will be meeting this Saturday, October 22nd, from 9:00 am until noon at the Pollard Memorial Library, ground floor meeting room. Officer nominations & elections are on the agenda. Also, it is at this meeting that we will begin to index the City of Lowell's Overseers of the Poor collection of records. Kim Zunino, of the Lowell Historic Board, will be there to give us the first batch of records, to go over what should be extracted from each record, as well as the Excel template we will be using for our data entry. If you are interested in participating, it is requested that you be present at this meeting. If you have a laptop please bring it. If you don't, a flash drive will suffice. The Overseers of Poor collection of records contains over 6,000 files, with multiple documents in each file. This is a major genealogical collection and we are very excited to have been given the opportunity to work on a project such as this, so please join us.
