DRACUT---Rita G. (Moran) Maille, 65, wife of Paul E. Maille, of 100 Wheeler Road, died Friday at St. John's Hospital. Her mother-in-law, Rose E. (Therrien) Maille, had died earlier Friday morning.
Born in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late John and Yvonne (Ferron) Moran.
She was a communicant of St. Francis church and a member of the parish Sodality.
Prior to her retirement, she had been employed with Flowers by Albert. She had owned and operated Rita's Gift Shop in Cupples Square and served as a volunteer at St. John's Hospital.
Surviving her her besides her husband are two daughters, Mrs James (Patricia Riley and Miss Roberta Maille, both of Londonderry, N.H.; two sons, Claude (Chick) Maille and david Maille of Lowell; two brothers, Robert Moran of Dracut and Paul Farley of Ayer; a sister, Mrs. Irene Sheehan of Pelham; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandson; also several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of Gaile Robillard who died Nov. 5, 1982.

DRACUT---Emile J. Maille, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, July 3, 2008, with his wife, Theresa (Normandin) and his son, Russel at his side.
He was born in Lowell, on August 5, 1920, a son of the late Cuthbert and Rose (Therrien) Maille.
Emile owned and operated Maille's Gulf Service Station on Riverside Street in Lowell for nearly 40 years.
He was a member of St. Francis Parish in Dracut, and served as an usher.
He served with the United States Army during World War II, stationed in Tyler Texas, as a sergeant with the military police. Emile was highlighted in a Texas newspaper for riding his motorcycle in winter 1900 miles to Massachusetts for family leave.
Emile had a lifeling interest in automobile racing, and as a young man in the 1940s, he raced midget racers on local New England tracks. He often attended the Indianapolis 500 Memorial Day race, and in later years watched it faithfully with family members at yearly celebrations.
In the more than 20 years, Emile has enjoyed his retirement, he and Theresa have have traveled, gardened extensively at their home, relished Theresa's home cooking, and enjoyed get-togethers and celebrations with their growing family.
Besides Theresa, his beloved wife of 61 years, Emile leaves behind and large family of seven children; 14 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. His children include two daughters and five sons, Linda Matte and spouse, C. Richard of Pelham, NH, Donna Franz and spouse, William of Windham, NH, Richard and Priscilla (Spanos) Maille of Tyngsboro, John and Christine (Orleans) Maille of Merrimack, NH, Thomas and Melissa (Hamilton) Maille and Russell Maille, all of Dunbarton, NH, and Kevin and Jerrilee (Nickerson) Maille of Raymond, NH. He also leaves a sister, Priscilla England of Dracut.
His family will miss him dearly.

Robillard Raogk - Where We Connect

A couple of weeks ago I started a small project for a fb friend of mine, Leo Cotnoir. Leo's great grandfather was Onesime Robillard and he was curious to find out if my Robillard line and his connected. When he first presented this question, my immediate response was that I was sure our lines crossed somewhere but where. With that being said, I started the research. It didn't take long to find out where we were connected. Once you get to a certain point in the Robillard ancestry everything is easy peasy. So with out further ado here is Leo Cotnoir's Robillard line.

1. Onesime Robillard (George, Emelie Heynemand) was born on 8 August 1862 at Lanoraie. He married Exilda Daigle. [personal knowledge of Leo Cotnoir]

2. George Robillard (Magloire, Marie Rose Gilbert dit Comtois) married Emelie Heynemand (Louis Gonzague, Sophie Marion) 27 Nov 1857 at the parish of St-Joseph-de-Lanoraie, Berthier, Quebec

3. Magloire Robillard (Louis, Marie Madeleine Wagner) married Marie Rose Gilbert dit Comtois 27 Jan 1829 at the parish of St-Joseph-de-Lanoraie, Berthier, Quebec.

All of the information above, except for Onesime's marriage, was found in the Drouin collection and I have the images, if anyone needs them please contact me.

4. Louis Robillard(Joseph, Marie Charles Charlotte Cochon) married Marie Madeleine Wagner(Georges, M. Angelique Delome) November 11th 1799 at Lanoraie. [Prdh familiy # 36451, couple # 82033]

5. Joseph Robillard (Claude, Marie. Judith Delpe) was born on December 25th 1738 at St-Sulpice. He married Marie Charles Charlotte Cochon(Jacques, Marie Catherine Morissette) on June 16th 1760 at Lavaltrie. [Prdh individu #158767, individu # 158766, couple # 36451]

Here is where Leo's Robillard line meets with mine.

6. Claude Robillard, Leo's ancestor, was the bother of Pierre Robillard, which of whom I descend. Pierre married Marie Amable Beignet (Francois, Marie Anne Brault) on August 8th at St-Sulpice. Claude Robillard, Leo's ancestor, was born on Feb 4th 1714 at St-Sulpice. He married Marie Judith Delpe dit Belair (Jean-Baptiste, Marie Madeleine Menard) on June 26th 1737 at St-Sulpice [Prdh individu # 97863, #97864] Both brothers, Claude and Pierre, were the sons of Joseph Robillard and Marie Marguerite Bazinet dit Tourblanche.

7 .Joseph (8. Claude, Marie Grandin) and Marguerite Bazinet dit Tourblanche (Antoine, Francoise Janot dit La Chapelle) were married on the 20th of April 1711 at the parish of Pointe-aux-Trembles, Ile de Montreal, Present at their marriage were Joseph's father, Claude; his brother, Claude; Joseph Trottier, Francoise Guillain, second spouse of Antoine Bazinet; Joseph Bazinet and Francoise Beauchamp.

Although I have the Drouin image for this marriage it is easier for me to cite Prdh mariage #11566. This information is also available in the Dictionnaire Genealogique des Familles Canadiennes, Volume 7 1700-1760.

The Obituary of Mrs Alice Mayotte nee Jodoin, Lowell, Massachusetts, 1953

Alice Mayotte nee Jodoin was the wife of Olympe Mayotte and the mother of Celine Courtois nee Mayotte. Celine, our daughter's namesake, was married to Albert H. Courtois, grandfather of my hard working, better half, Brian.

MRS ALICE MAYOTTE
Mrs. Alice Mayotte, widow of Olympe Mayotte, and a well known resident of this city, died last night at her home, 80 Ford street.
Mrs. Mayotte was born in Canada, the daughter of the late Joseph Jodoin and the late Parmelie Dupont. She was a parishioner of Ste. Jean Baptiste church and a member of Ste. Anne's sodality connected with her parish.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Albert Courtois and Mrs. Armand Marquis, both of Lowell; two sons, Gerard Mayotte and Robert Mayotte, both of Lowell; five sisters, Rev. Sr. Ste. Clemence of the Grey Nuns of the Cross in Ottawa, Mrs. Antolnette Sabourin of Upton, Canada; Mrs Clementine Benoit of St. Hyacinthe, Canada; Miss Germain Jodoin of Upton, Canada and Miss Sidonnie Jodoin of Montreal; one brother, Alfred Jodoin of Montreal; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.


MAYOTTE--Died, in Lowell, Sept. 19, Mrs. Alice (Jodoin) Mayotte. Relatives and friends may call at the M. R. Laurin funeral home, 295 Pawtucket street from 1 to 10 pm today and Monday. Funeral Tuesday morning. A solemn high mass will be celebrated at 9 o'clock at St. Jean Baptiste church. Burial in St. Joseph's cemetery. Funeral Director M. R. Laurin in charge.
