Aerial View of Cimetière Saint-Joseph, Chelmsford, Massachusetts

Albert Riezebos sent me the link.. I am hoping it will load on my blog here.. If you zoom in you can see the separate sections of the cemetery perfectly.

Yesterday when I was therelooking for a few stones I found a turtle making his way around. Cute huh. He was leaving the Via Crucis here. When I made my way back about 10 minutes later he was in the street, so I helped him along.

I also found a flat marker for a Joseph H. Lecuyer 1896 - 1947 and an Agnes Lecuyer 1898 - in the woods right where you enter the Via Crucis. The marker had about 4 feet of solid cement adhered to the bottom of it. I meant to go into the office and ask them if they were aware of it but I forgot.

I love this cemetery, I always feel a great sense of inner peace when I am there. I want to be buried by the lilacs..

Oh my gosh.....this is my first time on this site. Came upon it by accident and lo and behold when I saw the above marker I realized it's of my mother's aunt and uncle. Agnes surname was "Wagner" She died 21 December 1995. G. Lavoie

  2. Hi, Thanks for your comment and information on your great aunt and uncle.. Actually my youngest daughter found the marker when she was exploring the woods adjacent to the Via Crucis and I did end up telling the main office about it on a subsequent visit. The woman in the office said that maybe the marker was replaced with a new one and that perhaps one of the maintenance guys had placed it in the woods. Which, by the way, she said is not customary. She said that they usually crush up the marker or stone that is being replaced and put it in the ground under the new one. She said she would look into the matter because the marker should NOT have been dumped in the woods. Do you live in the area? -Michelle

I need to correct a mistake on my previous comment... I said that Agnes surname was "Wagner" that's incorrect..it's "Rivet" G. Lavoie

Agnes and Hector L'Ecuyer are my great-grandparents. I remember when Mémère died in 1995 she was buried at another family plot as (for some reason unknown to me) Pépère's remains had been moved to another family plot near Le Jardin des Anges. I cannot believe the marker was dumped in the woods!
